Tourism Tropical North Queensland:
Tourism Tropical North Queensland is the official regional tourism organisation responsible for the marketing and development of Cairns, Great Barrier Reef, and the Tropical North Queensland region of Australia.

Atherton Shire Attractions:
Atherton Shire is situated on the Atherton Tablelands, 90kms south-west of Cairns.

Atherton Tablelands:
Situated close to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, the Waterfalls and Crater Lake District is a wonderful place to spend some time in Far North Queensland.

Cedar Vale Farmstay in Ravenshoe:

Cooktown is about four hours drive north of Cairns...... and no, Cooktown doesn't have a ferry from Cairns.... or to Lizard Island.

The wet season up here runs from December to April, although most of the rain occurs in the evening. For fisherfolk, the best time to visit is between July and December.

Big Mama Yacht Charters:
Carrying a maximum of 12 guests, Big Mama operates under a "Roving Permit" in the northern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Queensland's Cape York.

Cooktown:
Cooktown is one of Queensland's oldest historic towns and is still charming and uncorrupted by urbanisation. As Cooktown is where the tropical rainforest meets the reef, the town is surrounded by some of the largest national parks in Cape York.

Kuranda Scenic Railway:
There's not a postcard around that can capture the beauty you'll witness onboard the Kuranda Scenic Railway. For one and a half fabulous hours, you'll travel onboard historical carriages through some of the lushest rainforest, pass deep gorges, rugged mountains and the spectacular waterfalls. Morning departures from Cairns.

Rainforestation Nature Park:
A 40 hectare tourist attraction in the midst of World Heritage rainforest. Situated on the Kennedy Highway, Rainforestation is five minutes from the Kuranda Village or half an hour by coach from Cairns.

Skyrail:
Take a gondola ride up to Kurada from Caravonica Lakes Station.

Located one hour's flight from Cairns, Lizard island is remote, ruggedly beautiful and surrounded by some of the finest beaches and clearest waters of any Great Barrier Reef islands -- ideal for couples and honeymooners who enjoy natural beauty and seclusion.
