Atherton
Shire Attractions:
Atherton Shire is situated on the Atherton Tablelands, 90kms south-west of Cairns.
Atherton Tablelands:
Situated close to Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, the
Waterfalls and Crater Lake District is a wonderful place to spend some time in Far North
Queensland.
Cedar Vale Farmstay in

House:
Only 20m from the Cape Trib Beach House bar, bistro and pool deck is the pristine Cape
Tribulation beach.

Cooktown is about four
hours drive north of Cairns...... and no, Cooktown doesn't
have a ferry from Cairns.... or to Lizard Island.
The wet season up here runs from December to April,
although most of the rain occurs in the evening. For fisherfolk, the best time to visit is
between July and December.
Big Mama Yacht
Charters:
Carrying a maximum of 12 guests, Big Mama operates under a "Roving Permit" in
the northern reaches of the Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Queensland's Cape York.
Cooktown:
Cooktown is one of Queensland's oldest historic towns and is still charming and
uncorrupted by urbanisation. As Cooktown is where the tropical rainforest meets the reef,
