Franche-Comté to
form the new
administrative region of
Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

The region
of Franche-Comte has four departments: Doubs (25), Jura (39), Haute-Saone (70) and Territoire de Belfort (90).
The regional prefecture of
Franche-Comte is Besancon.
Neighbouring regions are Alsace, Bourgogne, Champagne-Ardenne,
Lorraine and Rhone-Alpes.
