Innsbruck - Bridging the River Inn
Best Western
Hotel Goldener Adler:
Herzog-Friedrich-Strasse 6, Innsbruck.
Best Western hotels come in all shapes and sizes and the Hotel Goldener Adler is one of
the best Best Western hotels we've stayed in. There's only 33 rooms, so book early.
The history associated with this hotel - take a look at the marble
plaque outside for a list of the famous people who've stayed here - is amazing.
The Hotel Goldener Adler (located in the old town, close to the River
Inn) has been a part of the Innsbruck scene since 1390 and considering it has hosted kings
and queens, writers, composers (we stayed in the Mozart room) and leading politicians,
over the centuries, the price is very reasonable.
The Hotel Goldener Adler is family-run and the son paid great
attention to detail, even personally bringing the first beers to our table. The menu was
of an excellent standard and the 'people watching' from the outside tables is
entertainment in itself.
In the morning, the breakfast buffet was substantial and set us up for
a good day of sightseeing. I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for something
special in Innsbruck.
