Island of Cyprus
Cyprus, the third largest island in the Mediterranean, has a classical
history plus a climate with over 300 days of sunshine a year; making it a perfect location
for lying on clean, sandy beaches or taking a dip in the clear blue sea.
Not only is it the warmth of the climate that attracts people to
Cyprus, but also the warmth of the locals. The Cypriots are renowned for their friendly
welcome and genuine hospitality.
The
island of Cyprus
is dominated by the pine-covered
Troodos
mountains; filled with tiny villages, impressive
Byzantine
churches and an abundance of historical sites. In contrast to the unspoilt landscape
of the mountains, the coastal resorts offer a nightlife that is surprisingly cosmopolitan.
All this, combined with the high standard of service that the Cyprus
tourism industry provides, ensures that visitors return to this beautiful island time and
time again.
Tracing its history back over 9,000 years, Cyprus has seen many
civilisations come and go.
Being the chosen island by the Greek mythical Gods it is not
surprising that Cyprus is full of
historical
sites and legendary stories, to add yet another dimension to your Cyprus holiday.
Whilst the whole island of Cyprus has something to offer, it is the
west of the island that seems most able to claim to have a little of everything.
The unspoiled Akamas Peninsular is close to beautiful beaches, to many
of the island's historical attractions, and home to many of the Greek legends. It is
therefore little wonder that this area is home to a high percentage of Cyprus villas.

Northern Cyprus
Northern Cyprus is a
land of beaches, mountains, castles and villages where time stood still many years ago -
well, actually, sometime in the late fifties. If you are old enough there are many things
here that you will recall from your childhood, including the music.

Not So Secret Cyprus Island Secrets
Cyprus is an outdoor paradise and not just for sun and beach lovers.
There are endless miles of totally unspoilt donkey tracks and forest trails to explore.
If you are looking to find the real Cyprus, head for the west of the
island to Polis and Latchi, where you will find an unspoilt, outdoor paradise which is
perfect for natures lovers, hikers and bikers of all ages.
Yes the island is perfect for a sun-kissed beach holiday in the Summer
months, but come and visit in the low season (October-April) and discover a secret Cyprus
that every keen outdoor lover, mountain biker, walker, bird lover, horticulturalist or
geologist will love. Everything is also cheaper in the low season.

Weather in Cyprus
One of the benefits of being a Mediterranean island is plentiful
sunshine throughout the year, and Cyprus is no exception. Cyprus weather epitomises the
ideal weather of the region; with sunny days and fine temperatures almost every day.
Extremes of temperatures are rare, meaning
Cyprus
weather has something to offer every month of the year, whether it's swimming (as late
as November) or enjoying cultural sites and festivals (all year long).
While seasonal fluctuations in Cyprus weather are not drastic, they
are different.
