Snowy Mountains:
In winter, the snowy slopes offer skiing and snowboarding at levels to suit everyone. At
other times of the year, you can explore the mountains by horse or on foot along the many
trails. Fish the sparkling lakes and streams. Search for platypus, laze in thermal pools,
try white water rafting or go mountain biking down some of the steepest slopes in the
country.

Snowy Mountains:
In winter (June to October) the ski resorts at Thredbo, Perisher and Mount Selwyn come
alive. In summer, Kosciuszko National Park is perfect for bush walking, mountain biking,
trout fishing and horse riding.
Adaminaby:
Located 51km northwest of Cooma and 453km southwest of Sydney, Adaminaby is a popular destination with people fishing
for trout around Lake Eucumbene.
Berridale:
The tiny settlement of Berridale calls itself Crossroads of the Snowy because, when miners
were making their way to the goldfields at Adaminaby and Kiandra
from the port at Twofold Bay, they passed through Berridale. Today it's the skiers who
pass through on their way to the snowfields of Thredbo and Perisher Valley.
Snowy River
Winery:
After 20 years of playing host to the tourist trade, Berridale's Snowy River Winery have
closed their restaurant and tasting rooms to concentrate on producing the premium quality
cool climate desert wine that they are renowned for.
Bombala:
Located 504km south west of Sydney and 81km south of Cooma, Bombala is a small and attractive rural service centre located in
the far south east corner of New South Wales. The main road from Cooma to the coast does
not pass through Bombala and therefore the town has remained relatively untouched.
Charlotte Pass:
Kosciusko Chalet:
At 1760 metres, Charlotte Pass Village is the highest resort in Australia and is snowbound
for most of the ski season. The Kosciusko Chalet is a Bavarian style hotel offering ski

Guthega is a very historical and unique alpine village. Its two T Bars, 1 J Bar and Double

Khancoban Lakeside:

foothills of the magnificent Snowy Mountains, right on the edge of the Kosciuszko National

Khancoban trail rides offer 2-10 day horseback safaris through a variety of spectacular
mountain country. Horseback Safari departures are usually subject to a minimum of 6
bookings and run from December to April.

Snowfields:
Located in the Northern section of Kosciuszko National Park, 7km from Kiandra and 14km
from Australia's highest town, Cabramurra, Selwyn Snowfields is drive-in snow sport at
it's best, with the car park only a snowball's throw from the ski slopes and Selwyn
Centre.

Located off the highway on Stanton Street, at the northern end of the village, all ten
rooms have a sunny northern outlook towards the dividing range.
Perisher
in Summer:
Ride the Skitube alpine railway from Bullocks Flat to Perisher Blue and then on to Blue
Cow Mountain. From there you can visit The Summit Gallery and enjoy the views from the
Bistro. For bushwalkers, trails lead you to some of the most spectacular lookouts and
picnic points in the Snowy region.

Ski Resort:

Perisher Blue Ski Resort.
Perisher Valley:
The first ski lodges in the valley opened in 1951 and by 1957 there were a number of ski
clubs operating. Since then it has continued to grow so that today it is widely regarded
as the premier ski spot in the Snowy Mountains. Unlike Thredbo though, it is not a 12
months of the year resort and looks a little like a ghost town during the summer months.
